North Suburban Family Network - Kathy's Korner

Departments and Services > North Suburban Family Network > Kathy's Korner

Summer is ending and school is beginning. With the opening of school come some changes at the North Suburban Family Network (NSFN). There will be no parking along the school building at any time. This area will be used for drop off and pick up for the Early Childhood Center programs and staff members. There will be limited spaces in the Greenleaf Place parking lot. Be aware of the parking limitations on other streets and lots. We ask that if you are able, walk or carpool with another family. The NSFN drop in playroom will be opening at 9:30 am, to allow for the preschool and playgroup families to arrive. Families with children attending the Early Childhood Center will not be allowed into the NSFN before 9:30 am, and must enter through the NSFN entrance. This is for safety reasons and to keep track of all people entering the building. This is an exciting time and I am confident that we can work together so that the transitions run smoothly. Together We Can Make A Difference.

Peace, Kathy

Upcoming Coalition Meetings
Tuesday, Sept. 23 9:15 AM - 10:30 AM (Limited childcare available - call)
Tuesday, Nov. 18 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
The North Suburban Family Network is run by a Coalition comprised of staff, parents, local business people and representatives of human service agencies. The success of the network is based on all these people coming to the table, collaborating and sharing ideas. Our parents are a large part of that process. We meet every other month for 1.5 hours alternating from morning to evening. Be a part of the future of the NSFN. Call 781-662-2722 for more information.

Parent Advisory Group – TLC (Together Let’s Care):
TLC is a group of North Suburban Family Network members who support the program in many different ways. It takes many hands to keep things going, and the assistance of parents and other caregivers is always appreciated. Some activities that are needed are: people to make reminder phone calls for workshops, people to help spread the word by working at our table on town days, people to sign in members at the family fun events, assist with Saturday morning events at the network such as: Baby Let's Boogie; Holiday or theme parties for families. Bake sales are held during the year and having people to call to bake is a big help. If you are interested in helping, please call the office at 781-662-2722 for additional information or call our parent coordinator, Jill Tully at 781-621-0358 or e-mail Jill at jilltully@comcast.net.
